Sav’vannis’ 2019 BuJo Setup

Here’s How I Did Mine…

I wanted to use my BuJo to track everything that I thought was important and/or major in my life, from the tv shows I love to watch, holidays and birthdays, my health and weight loss stuff, symptoms related to my BiPolar, and triggers for my anxiety and PTSD… well, pretty much EVERYTHING in my life. Then, I had to decide if I wanted a planner with to-do lists and writing journal all in one, did I just want to journal and do my planner separate, or did I want to mix things? I thought my brain was going to explode with all the endless possibilities that lay before me! I kept thinking, “OMG! I can’t do this!! It’s just too damned much!”

But then, as I did more research, I found people who also had anxiety and/or PTSD, and were doing journals to help them. My rational mind kept saying “Why the hell can’t I do this?!!?” Once again, I stepped back and took a breath. When I was calm again, I decided to make a list of ALL the things I wanted to have in my BuJo, and it looked something like this:

Tv showsMorning blood glucoseWalking – steps/distanceDream Log
Year at a glanceAnxiety triggersWeatherDaily journal writing
Future logDepression trackerMigraine trackerShort term goals
Gratitude logDaily “done” listPain trackerLong term goals

StressorsBiPolar symptoms

At first, all written out, it looked like a LOT and was a bit overwhelming. I thought, “There is no way I’m going to get all of this in my book on a regular basis, much less keep track of it all!” Overwhelmed, I almost walked away, thinking, “How the hell am I going to pull this all into one cohesive unit??!” I stepped back for a little bit and pondered my problem. It finally came to me… “THAT’S WHY THERE ARE GROUPINGS!” That little light bulb over my head went on with a blinding light! So I grabbed 5 new sheets of paper, labeled each one: “daily”, “weekly”, “monthly”, “yearly”, and “want but not need”. Then I started separating out my lists.  They ended up looking something like this:

DailyWeeklyMonthlyYearly
Water intakeMealsexercise/yogaYear at a glance

So the next step was to figure out what I really wanted, and what I was going to put in another book. Didn’t shorten my lists by much:
